INVAMAT 2K PU-20 TWO-COMPONENT SEALANT

INVAMAT PU 20 two-component non-shrinkable sealant for inter-panel joints

is developed on the basis of hydroxyl-containing polyols cured with an isocyanate prepolymer. The sealant is produced using modern high-tech equipment and high-quality raw materials.

INVAMAT 2k PU-20, due to its technical characteristics contributes to a significant increase in the between-repair periods of sealing the inter-panel joints. When applied at facilities with standard parameters of inter-panel joints (joint width 20 mm, deformation not more than 25%), reduces costs of work and subsequent operation. It can be used at facilities subject to high temperature fluctuations, vibration and operation in areas of the Far North.

SEALANT APPLICATIONS

  • Sealing of expansion joints of building structures
  • Sealing of joints of building structures, cracks, cracks on the facades of buildings.

 INVAMAT 2K PU-20 SEALANT PROPERTIES

  • Good adhesion to concrete, metal, wood
  • Resistance to UV radiation, atmospheric influences.
  • Ease of application.
  • Can be painted with acrylate paints both on water and on an organic basis.

PREPARING INVAMAT SEALANT

The components of INVAMAT PU 20 sealant are supplied in a ratio ready to be mixed. Mix with an electric tool (an electric drill of 600-800 W, 200-400 rpm with a spiral stirrer). The mixing time is not less than 10 minutes. Low-quality mixing can lead to loss of thixotropy of the sealant, uneven vulcanization, lower adhesion.

At low temperatures, sealant viscosity  increases, so before use, we recommend that the sealant be kept in a heated room for not less than a day. It is impermissible to dilute the sealant with solvents as this can lead to a change in the sealant properties (reduced adhesion, loss of thixotropy, etc.), cracking is possible!

PREPARING SURFACES TO BE SEALED

Clean surfaces to apply the sealant from dirt, dust, grease, loose particles, cement slurry residues, and the like. The sealant can be applied to a damp (but not wet surface), completely cleaned from dirt, grease, cement slurry residues and previously applied sealants. It is unacceptable to apply sealant in rain and snow.

SEALANT APPLICATION

In order for the sealant edges to look even, glue the adhesive tape on the seam to determine the width of the future seam, then apply a layer of sealant, then remove the adhesive tape. The sealant is applied to the interface surface of panels using a spatula or special equipment.

Apply sealant at the mouth of the joints evenly, without gaps. To maintain the design thickness of the sealant layer in the joint, as well as to prevent adhesion of the sealant to the rigid base in the joint gap, use anti-adhesive gaskets of expanded polyethylene.

STORAGE

Warranty shelf life — 12 months at from – 20 °С to + 30 °С in intact factory package.

SAFETY MEASURES

Avoid contact with unprotected skin areas, eyes. When exposed to open skin, they should first be cleaned with white spirit, then with warm water and soap. Not explosive. When working with a sealant, prevent it to enter sewage. Workers engaged in the construction and application of sealant must be provided with overalls according to GOST 12.4.011-89, knitted gloves according to GOST 5007-87, rubber gloves according to GOST 20010-93 and preventive ointments for hand greasing before work.

Wash tools with acetone or mineral spirits. In the vulcanized state, the sealant can be removed only mechanically.

RESTRICTIONS

It is not recommended to heat sealant above 45 °C. Avoid contact with drinking water. Do not work inside living premises.

TOOL CLEANING

Wash tools with white spirit immediately upon completion of work. The hardened sealant can be removed mechanically.
